BURNTISLAND is home to the 10th oldest club in the world. Golf has been played at the Fife club since 1797, although some historians have suggested it dates back to 1688.

First surveyed by Old Tom Morris, the Dodhead parkland layout of 1896 was designed by two-time Open champion Willie Park Jnr and updated by James Braid in 1922.

The course is unlike any other in Fife, perched high above the sea – overlooking the Firth of Forth with panoramic views of the Bass Rock to the east and Forth bridges to the west.

Playing the course requires a depth of shotmaking and a steady hand on the greens.
