Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club is the 26th oldest Golf Club in the world. Old Tom Morris winner of four Open Championships was a founding/honorary member of the club, a traditional Scottish links golf course occupying a prime position on the shores of the Firth of Clyde.

The deep bunkers, running fairways, undulating greens and strands of gorse test the skills of players of all abilities and at 6044 yards, this par 69 course is a must for amateur golfers of all ages.

The splendid clubhouse sits yards from the shoreline and the finely manicured fairways offer year round golf on a firm and generally frost free footing. The course is playable when many others are not.

Visitors Bookings

Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club is a members’ club but we are keen to let visitors enjoy the course and its facilities . We are more than happy to accommodate individual golfers or groups. Individual players will not be asked to join up with other groups.

There could be a degree of flexibility in terms of tee times and for the Green Fees of larger groups of golfers. Contact us and the Secretary will see if he can accommodate you.

Trolleys and Practice Information

We have pull trolleys at a cost of £5 (£8 for the day) and electric trolleys at a cost of £12 (£15 for the day) available for hire.

We also have two Electric Buggies, subject to availability, at a cost of £25 per round (£40 per day if required).

Club hire + trolley is available at £30 per round or £40 per day.

Caddies can also be organised  (request in advance please) for £45 per day + tip.

We have two driving nets near the first tee (not available during Winter months) and a putting green.  We also have a short-game practice area adjacent to the 5th fairway.

Designed by Eight-time European No 1 golfer and 2010 winning Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie, the course is now gaining a global reputation as a masterpiece thanks to its fast undulating greens, cavernous bunkers and mature setting.

Set amongst two historic castles and playing through 1000-year-old Yew Trees the course also overlooks the Ayrshire coastline.

Rowallan Castle also has a 19th hole which can be used to settle any tie games after 18 holes. This 140 yard par 3 is the perfect ending to any round of golf.

Rowallan is proud to have hosted the EuroPro Tour in 2012 & 13 as well as many national and international events since opening in 2010.

The course is located, 25 minutes away from Prestwick Airport and 40 minutes from Glasgow. Coming from Glasgow on the M77 take the Fenwick exit and follow signs for Kilmaurs. Coming from Ayr on the M77 take the Kilmaurs/Stewarton exit on the motorway and follow signs for Kilmaurs.
