Shot Scope completes final phase of Strokes Gained implementation to industry-leading performance tracking platform.

The second British Golf Show has been re-scheduled for 14-15 May 2021, and will double in size to become the largest exhibition to date in the organisers’ eight-year history.

The 2020 event’s originally-scheduled date of May was switched to early October when the pandemic hit, but a lack of clarity as to what will / will not be permitted as regards public gatherings next month has left exhibition organisers The Elite Luxury Events with no choice but to postpone.

As the British Golf Show’s exhibition space was already fully-sold for the 2020 event, the 2021 British Golf Show will now take place across two Golf Halls at Wycombe Air Park to allow for extra exhibitors and public attractions.

Extra capacity at Wycombe Air Park has been secured to make the expansion possible.

As originally planned the 2021 British Golf Show will take place alongside the long-running The Elite London luxury lifestyle exhibition, which also switches to the May 2021 dates.

All current golf exhibitors have been personally contacted, and the Elite sales team are now taking bookings for the enlarged 2021 event.

“With ongoing uncertainty about COVID-19, there simply isn’t time now for our exhibitors to prepare for a golf show in early October” said Alex Ayling, Managing Director of The Elite Luxury Events.

“This gives us more time to build additional attractions into the event, and to make it an unforgettable day out for anyone with a love of golf. The sport of golf has by and large welcomed our initiative and we have appreciated everybody’s support during this most challenging of all years.

Close House, home to European Ryder Cup legend Lee Westwood, has announced that the PING Junior Masters will take place at the club this summer during the build-up to the European Tour’s British Masters.

Westwood, Close House and PING all believe very passionately about the importance of introducing young people to the game of golf. In 2019 Close House delivered subsidised coaching in 26 schools within the community as well as hosting a school’s golf festival for over 200 children from 18 different schools.

“Helping to get more kids in the north excited about the game is very important. It’s been brilliant to see this event grow and develop and I can’t wait to meet this year’s participants in July,” commented club ambassador, Lee Westwood.

“It’s a real once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the eventual winner to play a part in the British Masters and tee it up with some of the world’s very best golfers,” he added.

A custom-built Zen Green Stage has been made for its debut at Florida’s PGA Merchandise Show later this month

THE Zen Green Stage will make its first PGA Merchandise Show appearance next week in Orlando.

A 16-foot model has been custom-built for the exhibition, and will appear on the Smart2Move booth (No. 1273), accompanied by Zen’s Nick Middleton and George Stubbs.

Zen Green Stage – which regularly appears on Sky Sports Golf as the centrepiece of its TV coverage at big tournaments – is the world’s leading digitally-adjustable putting and full swing platform.

It is referred to as “the final piece of the jigsaw for your golf academy” by putting coach Phil Kenyon, who works with many leading players on tour.

Hertfordshire’s Matt Wallace – Callaway’s newest signing – will use the new Mavrik driver when he tees it up in this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship

MATT Wallace is the second top English player to switch equipment at the start of the 2020, moving from Ping to Callaway in time for the first event in the Middle East swing.

The Moor Park member is using a full set of Callaway clubs – including the newly launched Mavrik driver – and is the latest member of the staff professional team at the American equipment giant’s Surrey-based European Tour division.

Matt, who came throught the junior ranks in Hertfordshire, playing at Rickmansworth’s Batchworth Park, before moving across the road to Moor Park, and on to Alabama’s Jacksonville State University – the same US college where Danny Willett spent two years.

Wallace is one of the rising stars of the game. The four-time winner on the European Tour is comfortably inside the world’s top 50 – currently ranked at No. 32, guaranteeing him a place in all four Majors and the four World Golf Championships.

The 29-year-old will kick-off his 2020 campaign at this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, from January 16-19, where he will immediately put the MAVRIK driver and fairway woods straight into competitive play.

The Mavrik driver features Callaway’s new Flash Face SS20 architecture, designed by AI, with a “more expansive area that delivers ultra-fast ball speeds working in conjunction with Callaway’s proven Jailbreak technology.”

Wallace will also rely on Callaway’s new Jaws MD5 Wedges in 50, 55 and 60 degree lofts. The wedges feature the new Jaws groove and Groove-in-Groove technology, to deliver “excellent spin and control around the greens.”

Matt, who spent a year at college in the States, turned pro in 2012 having won the Peter Benka Trophy for the best individual score at the South East Qualifier, at Stoneham, two years earlier.

The golfer from Pinner has made a rapid rise through the pro ranks, winning on five consecutive Alps Tour starts in 2016 to earn his place on the European Challenge Tour.

After winning the Portugal Open early in 2017 to earn instant promtion to the European Tour then claimed three more titles in little over a year – just missing out on a Ryder Cup place in Thomas Bjorn’s team for Paris in 2018.

Wallace has also made a huge impact on the US PGA Tour, finishing tied third at the USPGA Championship at Bethpage Black, sharing 12th spot at the US Open at Pebble Beach.

He had already shown his liking for playing in the States after coming tied sixth on his debut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bayhill earlier that season.
