SkyCaddie’s award-winning ‘big four’ – the SX550, SX400, LX5C and LX5 – all cost £50 less during the promotion.

All you have to do is hand your old laser or GPS over to your local SkyCaddie stockist to get £50 off a new SkyCaddie.

Scotland’s Golf Coast is ready to again excite and inspire in 2021 as it encourages golfers to journey back to its stunning shores and savour experiences on and off the course.

After a challenging 12 months across the tourism industry due to COVID-19, the East Lothian region is ʻgood to goʼ this year as restrictions from the global pandemic continue to ease. Boasting the worldʼs greatest concentration of championship links courses, the 30-mile coastline offers a fantastic destination to suit all abilities and budgets for stay-and-play breaks – as well as one of Scotlandʼs driest and sunniest locations for all-year round golf.

With a choice of 21 courses in total – headlined by championships tests such as 16-time Open venue Muirfield and this year’s Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open host, The Renaissance, to delightful challenges like Gullane No.3, Royal Musselburgh and Winterfield – it offers a variety of golf at incredible value.

Combined with a plentiful choice of accommodation
– including resorts, hotels, bed & breakfasts and self- catering with some offering short-game golf facilities on site – and easy access to main road networks, it is hoped visitors will be flocking back to the East Lothian fairways. It is less than 45 minutes to all of Scotland’s Golf Coast courses from the nation’s capital, Edinburgh, and under 90 minutes from Glasgow. The region can also be easily reached in a three to four-hour drive from the likes of Newcastle, Manchester or Leeds.

Scotland’s Golf Coast is a private sector led/public sector supported business and marketing alliance with almost 40 members, including golf clubs, accommodation providers and other local businesses. Since the launch of a new website, scotlandsgolfcoast. com in March 2020, website sessions are up 120% and database growth up 592% to highlight the demand for the area. David Cockerton, Owner of Garleton Lodge, Hotel, Restaurant & Spa, said: “We are all looking forward to a successful year in 2021 and welcoming visitors back from across Scotland and beyond – we’re good to go. It has been a hugely challenging period for everyone due to the pandemic and we hope there is a demand to return to East Lothian such is the quality of our product. Scotland’s Golf Coast continues to be a success and we look forward to working with all our providers to capitalise on the excitement for golf and the opportunities to travel again in 2021.”

The region will again be showcased to a global audience in July when the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open is held for a third straight year at The Renaissance. It will be the fifth time Scotland’s Golf Coast has staged the men’s event in seven years given Gullane, which offers a wonderful mix of three courses, was the tournament host in 2015 and 2018.

The Ladies Scottish Open was also played at Gullane in 2018 and The Renaissance in 2019 and 2020, while Muirfield will welcome the AIG Women’s Open next year. Muirfield most recently staged The Open in 2013 when Phil Mickelson prevailed, while the renowned links was the scene for Scotland’s first staging of the Ryder Cup back in 1973. Musselburgh Links, Dunbar and North Berwick – home to Scotland’s all-time leading female professional Catriona Matthew – boast excellent reputations on Scotland’s Golf Coast, while other much- loved venues include Archerfield Links, Craigielaw, Kilspindie, Longniddry, Luffness New and The Glen.

Wherever you venture on your East Lothian golfing journey, you will find traditional links and classic inland layouts, often steeped in history, and complemented by modern, challenging courses. In terms of accommodation, there are options for every budget. From Duck’s Inn at Aberlady – where you can perhaps enjoy some ʻbar-stool golf’ – to the Marine Hotel & Spa on the West links in North Berwick, and from Archerfield House to Garleton Lodge, which boasts stunning views across the Forth and surrounding East Lothian countryside. A number of the accommodation providers in East Lothian package together the accommodation and courses for the golfers’ convenience.

Jim Gales MBE, the Founder of the SDGC said, “this is a great opportunity to raise the profile of the SDGC and Scotland, while hosting these two highly prestigious competitions for disabled players.

From today (19 July), Ireland is the first country in Europe that fully jabbed British citizens can visit without the need for any Covid tests into or out of the country. There will also be no requirement to self-isolate if fully vaccinated.

Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “We are pleased to confirm this change in arrangements to welcome British visitors to Ireland from 19 July. The Covid pandemic has been tough on everyone and these changes will afford many people an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends in a way that hasn’t been possible for a long time. Ireland’s tourism industry has adopted a safety charter to ensure the wellbeing of both our guests and hospitality workers. We wish all our British friends a safe and enjoyable visit to Ireland.”

Before arriving in Ireland, British visitors will need to complete an online Passenger Locator Form which will be checked by their air or sea carrier before departure. Passengers may also be asked for proof of vaccination.

On arrival in Ireland, British visitors will need to have proof of full vaccination, for example showing their NHS App Covid Pass, a vaccination status letter or their NHS vaccine paper card.

Passengers without proof of vaccination will require evidence of a negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours prior to arrival in Ireland and will have to quarantine for 14 days or a minimum of five days if they prove negative with a second PCR test provided by the Health Service Executive in Ireland on day five.

From 19 July, children under the age of 12 will not need to take a PCR test prior to travelling to Ireland. However, children aged 12 to 17 who are not fully vaccinated will need to show a negative RT-PCR test result on arrival in Ireland, even when travelling with fully vaccinated adults.

It is anticipated that indoor hospitality will recommence on 26 July in Ireland. Indoor hospitality will only be available to those who are fully vaccinated or with proof of recovery from Covid-19 in the past 6 months. Those staying in hotels will be able to avail of the indoor hospitality options within the hotel from Monday 19 July.

The tourism industry across the island of Ireland is very much looking forward to welcoming back holidaymakers from Great Britain. The health and safety of all our visitors continues to be the priority, and we will ensure they are protected alongside a very warm Irish welcome.

A cloudy day with a forecast of rain greeted our 23 junior golfers who competed in the Junior Championship and R&B Championship tournaments – the most prestigious events in our competition calendar.

In the 36-hole Junior Championship, the morning round on the Forest course proved to be very challenging with just 1 golfer playing below his handicap. In the ‘Scratch’ category, Tommy Brammer led the way after the first round with a gross 77. In the ‘Handicap’ category, Sebastian Wells headed the field with a net 68.

After a bite to eat and a drink the afternoon round on the Manor was to prove even more difficult with prolonged spells of rain and a moderate breeze for the players to overcome. Midway through the afternoon, with heavy rain falling our youngest junior golfers teed off in the R&B Championship for their 9-hole competition. With parents/supporters pulling trolleys or carrying golf bags, the conditions really were unpleasant, but to their credit the young boys and girls were brilliant and played some very good golf as well, demonstrating both skill and perseverance. As the final few holes of each competition were being played and scorecards were being checked and signed it was clear that one or two of the categories were being very closely contested, which is great for the future of junior golf at Bramshaw.

R&B Champion – Jack Elkins

In the R&B Championship, Jack Elkins (18pts) managed to edge out our youngest competitor at just 7 years of age, Isla Smallpiece (17pts) to take the trophy. Jack is a role model for young golfers, already in the Hampshire Boys Team and showed great spirit after opening with a triple bogey on the first hole.

Handicap Champion – William Dibden

In the Junior Championship itself, the Handicap category was also very close with 4 players within 2 shots of each other after 36 holes of golf. With a total of 144 William Dibden, playing in his first 36-hole tournament took the Handicap Champion title from runner-up, Jake Barney (145). The Scratch Championship competition saw Billy Lightfoot defend his title with a great round of 73 to pull away from his closest rival, Danny Coombs.

Championship Day is always a special day in the Bramshaw calendar and thanks must go to Anne and Mike Woodman, who worked tirelessly throughout the day, ball-spotting, supporting, measuring ‘Nearest the Pins’ and to the bar staff, Kerry and Michael, who kept the clubhouse open a little longer for our very damp golfers and parents to have refreshments after the event. In true Covid compliance fashion, the presentation was held in the ‘open’, fortunately with ‘less heavy’ rain falling!

Pictured below are the major winners from the days’ competitions, receiving their trophy from 2021 Junior Captain, Elliot Thomas.

On the 21st of June, four golfers will play 101 holes in 18 hours to raise as much money as possible in aid of NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Urgent Appeal.

The golfers, including Babouche! Golf founder David Long will play at East Berkshire Golf Course after taking their inspiration from the late Captain Sir Tom Moore, choosing 101 holes as this would have been Sir Tom’s 101st birthday this year.

David, along with Matt Niedzwiecki, Rory Woolridge and Matt Robinson, has organised an amazing raffle so golfers all around the UK can have a chance at winning a range of stunning prizes. Prizes include equipment from major brands such as TaylorMade, Cobra and Srixon, as well as signed merchandise and memorabilia from some of the world’s greatest players such as Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson and many more.

The first prize is a day of coaching with the internet’s most popular golf coaches – Piers Ward and Andy Proudman from Me And My Golf.

One of the raffle prizes is a set of brand-new Harlequin design Babouche! head covers fresh from the outstanding range offered by the business.

“My super talented head cover maker wanted to support my charity golf event,” said David, “So, unbeknown to me, she and her graphic designer daughter created a simply stunning brand-new design, and then made up this amazing set of head covers and accessories.

“I knew these beauties would be perfect as a donation to the prize fund.”

The raffle has over 50 prizes up for grabs and will be adding more. You can see the full and up-to-date list of prizes by visiting the 101 holes for NHS heroes website.

Tickets for the raffle are £10 and can be purchased from https://raffall.com/225887/enter-raffle-to-win-101-holes-for-nhs-heroes-golf-hosted-by-david-long

The world’s best players will return to Rancho Mirage for the first Major of the year with defending Champion Mirim Lee and World No.1 and 2019 Champion Jin Young Ko both returning for the first time since their respective victories.

World No.2 Sei Young Kim will be looking to add a second Major to her tally having won the 2020 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship alongside her 12 LPGA Tour victories, while World No.3 Nelly Korda and World No.6 Brooke Henderson, who agonizingly lost out to Lee in a three way play off at the first hole last year, will both be looking to finish one place higher and claim their first ANA Inspiration title.

Korda, at 22 already has four LPGA wins, including the 2021 Gainbridge LPGA, and is excited to return to the Dinah Shore Tournament Course and have another chance at winning one of her favorite events of the year.

The US Solheim Cup star, Korda explained of her runners up 2020 experience, “It was really disappointing to come so close and not manage to win but as time has passed and I can look back on it more objectively, I think I learnt a huge amount from the experience and it can only help me in the many years I have ahead of me on Tour. The positives I reflect on are that it was my highest Major finish to date – so I am getting closer – and it’s pretty great not to have to wait a whole year to get back out there and give it another shot! Also, I know the course suits me which will really give me confidence as soon as I get back on site and I love everything about Rancho Mirage. I am just really thankful that ANA and the LPGA have managed to get the tournament back in its usual slot in the schedule during these tough times and we will be able to celebrate the tournament’s 50th edition.”

World No.4, seven time Major winner and 2013 Champion, Inbee Park will be seeking a fast start in a year that will see her defend her coveted Olympic gold medal while World No.5 American star Danielle Kang, a two-time winner on the LPGA in 2020 and one of the most consistent players on the LPGA, is another player likely to feature on Sunday afternoon of this special 50th Anniversary edition.

Nasa Hataoka is the highest ranked Japanese player in the field at No.7, while World No.15 ‘Smiling Cinderella,’ Hinako Shibuno, winner of the 2019 AIG Women’s Open, is the second highest since bursting onto the international scene with her win at Woburn, England almost two years ago.

Tournament favorite Lexi Thompson, the 2014 Champion, is seemingly never far from the top of the leaderboard at one of her self-declared favorite events of the year and with a second place finish at the 2021 Gainbridge LPGA last month, she will be hoping to get back to her winning ways after her 2020 season was her first winless year since 2012.

Marking its 50th anniversary this year, South Korean Mirim Lee, will defend her title against a stellar field that not only features all of the world’s top 15 players but also past champions Jin Young Ko (2019), Pernilla Lindberg (2018), So-yeon Ryu (2017), Lydia Ko(2016), Brittany Lincicome (2015), Lexi Thompson (2014), Inbee Park (2013), Stacy Lewis (2011), and Yani Tseng (2010).

With the tournament returning to its usual position on the calendar as the first Major of the year, the 50th Anniversary is being celebrated with a look back at the past champions and especially the foundations built by Dinah Shore, whose statue takes pride of place by the 18th green. Please view the special 50th Anniversary short film here.

As with last year’s tournament, this special 50th Anniversary edition will be going ahead without spectators due to Covid-19 related restrictions following close collaboration with partners ANA, the LPGA, the City of Rancho Mirage, Mission Hills Country Club and in consultation with the Riverside County Health Department, following the State of California Public Health Department guidelines.

Fans will be able to watch the ANA Inspiration around the world, including on Golf Channel and Sky Sports, and follow along for enhanced content on social @ANAinspiration and the tournament website ANAinspiration.com.

London, UK, March 2021: Just as golf returns at the end of March, the online golf club aimed at nomadic golfers, Ready Golf, has announced that it has increased the number of golf clubs in its portfolio giving its members access to even more golf courses in return for one single, annual membership fee.

In addition to those members in Surrey, Sussex and Kent already on their books, Ready Golf has signed up a host of new clubs in Somerset, Hampshire, Hertfordshire and Essex.

With the pent-up demand following lockdown likely to trigger green fees hikes and more and more waiting lists at clubs, Ready Golf is an increasingly-attractive option for golfers who like to experience playing different golf courses around the country throughout the year for a one-off payment that offers exceptional value.

Thanks to Ready Golf’s current Spring offer, members can play as many golf courses as they like for just £64 per month whilst those golfers wanting to wait for the better weather to return are able to secure a membership spot with a refundable £75 deposit and choose a start date that suits them.

“During lockdown we have worked hard to extend our reach and add to the number of clubs in the Ready Golf family,” comments Tom Bishop, founder of Ready Golf. “And with the return of golf at the end of the month, we are currently offering a 15% discount and a refundable deposit of £75 given the uncertain pandemic conditions for those who’d prefer to wait for some better playing conditions.

“With the new clubs now on board and several others keen to join, we believe we have a great golf offering for nomadic golfers who like to tee it up at a range of different courses. Whilst our golf courses are currently concentrated in the south east, we are looking to sign up more clubs from other counties in order to attract golfers from all over.”

One of the latest signings is The Bristol Golf Club in Somerset. Established in a 200-year-old former deer park with panoramic views across the Severn Estuary, it is home to two challenging courses suitable for both experienced and novice golfers. In addition to the main 18 hole layout, there is an outstanding 9 hole, par 3 course whilst a 15-bay floodlit driving range is ideal for those wanting some practice before teeing it up.

Down the road in Hampshire, Sherfield Oaks just outside Basingstoke boasts 36 holes laid out among mature trees. The open design of the par 72 Wellington Course, set on naturally free-draining land, possesses a couple of driveable par 4s inviting the big hitters to grip it and rip it whilst the par 69 Waterloo Course is more intricately designed and requires more demanding course management from the opening par 5.

Another recent sign-up is Mill Green Golf Club just off the A1(M) near Welwyn Garden City, best known as the birthplace of golfing superstar Sir Nick Faldo. Designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark in 1994, this par 72, 6,500 yard track meanders through lakes and woodland and provides one of the best all round golfing experiences in Hertfordshire. In addition to the championship course, Mill Green has exceptional practice facilities and an outstanding 9-hole, par 3 course suitable for golfers of all standards.

Further around the M25 to the east lies Warley Park Golf Club with its 27 holes, set out in three loops of nine that can be played in any combination. Its characteristic undulating, tight fairways and pacey greens are bordered by numerous lakes and mature woodland providing a scenic backdrop for golf. The club’s newly-refurbished spike bar and terrace offer a high standard of service in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

In Surrey, three more clubs have joined founder Ready Golf member, Bletchingley in Redhill; namely Pyrford, Limpsfield Chart and Hampton Court Golf Clubs.

Opened in 1993 and also designed by Alliss and Clark, the picturesque course at Pyrford is set within 23 acres of rolling landscape that features an abundance of lakes in an area of outstanding beauty. Indeed it is its strategically-positioned lakes throughout that give this track its distinctive feel with water ever present and many fairways fringed with bulrushes, reeds and lilies. The course’s extensive drainage systems however ensure that it is playable all year round, even during the wettest months. Easily accessible from the A3/M25 junction, this modern club’s friendly and relaxed clubhouse atmosphere ensures visitors always receive a warm welcome.

Created in 1889 making it one of the oldest clubs in England, Limpsfield Chart is a par 70, 9-hole course with 18 different tees. It retains all of the charm and many of the original features established over 130 years ago while also offering a beautifully-maintained course that has seen significant investment in course improvements over recent months that have added extra challenges as well as interest to this appealing heathland layout.

Another of the latest Surrey signings is Hampton Court Golf Club in Kingston upon Thames near London which offers golfers the unusual opportunity of playing a traditional parkland course located within one of the country’s most famous royal parks. Set in the grounds at Home Park, the 6,500 yard, par 71 design meanders through hundreds of mature trees on free-draining terrain whilst fallow deer roam amongst the flowering grasses bordering the fairways.

Joining Littlestone, West Kent and Broome Park Golf Clubs in Ready Golf’s Kent stable is Redlibbets Golf Club, not too far from Sevenoaks. Designed and built in the 1990s, the course has all the benefits of modern construction methods with USGA specification greens, tees and approaches and a fully-automated irrigation system. The par 72, 6,572 parkland layout boasts mature beech, oak and chestnut trees and offers spectacular views over the Kent countryside.

So for nomadic golfers looking to get back into golf as soon as possible after March 29, Ready Golf offers the ideal package of a low cost online golf club membership that gives easy access to an attractive range of golf courses around the country that can be played as many times as the member wishes once golf is back on the agenda.

Additional attractions for Ready Golf members include;

offering members an accurate handicap index, in accordance with the new World Handicap System (WHS), which members can use when playing with other members

ability to bring guests at special rates to any of the member clubs

linking up with other members on existing bookings and meeting like-minded golfers and potentially, making new friends

Flexible memberships are now an important, established option for golf memberships and the Bramshaw Flex membership is our own flexible membership launching on April 1st, 2021.

This is the perfect option for the modern golfer who also has family commitments, hectic work patterns or other sporting or non-sporting interests that make a full membership less viable.

This membership is not recommended to replace a full membership, and indeed if you are playing more than 2-3 times per month, this will not be the membership for you.

Whilst the Bramshaw Flex membership is limited, it will also include the following benefits:

∙ Play on our two brilliant, but starkly contrasting courses – the Forest Course (Hampshire’s oldest) and the Manor Course ∙ Maintain an official handicap with affiliation to Hampshire Golf and England Golf

∙ Play in competitions (some restrictions apply)

∙ Introduce friends/colleagues at members guest rates ∙ Full use of Clubhouse facilities

∙ Bramshaw members bar card providing 10% discount on F&B bought in the Bar/Restaurant

∙ Reciprocal golf at 23 other golf clubs*

How does it work?

On purchasing a Bramshaw Flex membership we will issue you with a member’s bag tag, members bard card and login details to your online members account. Booking tee times is simple; simply login to your online account, click on tee time bookings and you will be able to see all available tee times and their points cost.
