The Northumberland Golf Club is set in the serenity of Gosforth Park in Newcastle upon Tyne, only 2 minutes from the A1.

This Colt & Braid designed heathland course was established in 1898 to provide a challenging test of golf. Renowned for its firm, fast greens and strategic bunkering, the NGC has hosted many major championships over the years. Indeed, it has been a venue for Regional Qualifying for The Open for the past 5 years.

From the simple looking but often tricky first hole the course plays both inside and outside the Newcastle Racecourse. The undulating greens combined with closely mown run off areas provide a stern test of the short game and though the course can be testing from the medal tees for even the low handicap golfer it is a pleasure to play all year round whatever your handicap.

Whether you are just finishing your round or about to go out there is always a warm welcome in the elegant clubhouse. New members and guests will find a traditional feel with a modern outlook on making guests welcome.

The Northumberland Golf Club is continually improving both the course and the clubhouse facilities. A new practice area was recently created where visitors can now warm up with a basket of balls.
