Nestled in the picturesque village of Marton near Macclesfield in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, is a little known nine-hole golf course that is enjoying a new lease of life.
Established in 1998 and designed by Neville Pearson to USGA specification, this Pay & Play golf course proved popular with local golfers but in recent years fell into disrepair. Following the owner’s retirement in 2017 the course was acquired by Kelle and Kyle Hares, an entrepreneurial couple who, having moved into the area with their young family, were looking for a development project that would not only benefit from their property and construction know-how, but give something back to the local community.
Over the last 18 months the couple, along with their on-site team, have transformed the golf course making it the perfect place to improve your short game. The par 3 course takes advantage of the natural landscape which includes water hazards and coppices; new bunkers have been dug and tees rebuilt, whilst a computerised irrigation system means the course is playable all year round; further course enhancements are planned.
The bright, modern Clubhouse includes a welcoming reception/retail area, lounge, changing facilities and an extensive south-facing patio with stunning views of the new first tee and the Cheshire countryside beyond, providing a relaxing environment to enjoy light refreshment pre or post game. Further developments are planned, with approval in place for a larger Clubhouse which will offer players and visitors improved facilities and new Plant Storage; Golf Simulators and enhanced Practice Areas are also currently under discussion.

Open 7 Days a Week and suitable for players of all ages and abilities, from beginners to seasoned pros, Marton Meadows Golf Course continues to offer Pay & Play golf as well as affordable Gold, Silver & Bronze Membership options with added benefits and discounts. Equipment hire and tuition are also available at the Club.
Marton Meadows Golf Course is the home to Pro Golfer, Sam Proctor. Available for individual or group golf training, Sam works closely with his colleague Rob Hart, PGA Professional – TGC Academy, to host ‘Get into Golf’ and ‘Play Golf’ training courses and offers Junior Golf Camps during the school holidays. Directions –
From the South
Leave the M6 a Junction 18, take the 3rd exit marked Holmes Chapel and follow towards the town centre. Bear right at the double roundabout, taking the 1st exit off the second roundabout onto Macclesfield Road (A535) sign-posted Alderley Edge. Follow for approx. 3.4 miles, then take a slight right onto Farm Lane (B5392) continue for 2.0 miles turning right onto Blackden Lane, after approx. 1.0 mile turn right onto Congleton Road (A34) and continue straight ahead towards Congleton. You will shortly enter Marton Village with Marton Meadows GC directly off the A34 sign-posted on your left.
From the North
Leave the M56 at Junction 6 and bear right onto Altrincham Road (A538) towards Wilmslow. Follow for approx. 1.3 miles and then turn right onto Hawthorn Street continuing onto Bedells Lane. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Alderley Road, follow for approx. 0.6 miles reaching Whitehall Bridge Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Melrose Way (A34). Continue for approx. 3.1 miles, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Congleton Road (A34). Continue along the A34 towards Congleton for approx. 5.0 miles, you will enter Marton Village with Marton Meadows GC directly off the A34 sign-posted on your left.
